Boccia Tasmania sessions are moving to Saturdays from 6 August 2022, and we hope this means more people can join us!
The Saturday program will run from 11am t0 12:30pm and cost just five dollars (cash) to play.
As normal, the venue is Court 3, Moonah Sports Centre in Gormanston Road.
Paralympics Australia defines Boccia like this:
‘Boccia is played indoors and tests competitors’ degree of muscle control and accuracy. Competing in wheelchairs, athletes throw, kick or use a ramp device to propel leather balls as close as possible to a white ball called the ‘jack’. There are six red and six blue balls to indicate which team is playing.
‘Boccia is played by athletes with a significant physical impairment affecting all four limbs. Athletes compete in singles, pairs and teams events.’
ParaQuad Tasmania invites you to come and play Boccia. No experience is necessary and you can play for some fun, or aim for something more serious. All equipment is supplied.
See you Saturdays soon!
