The Invictus games are finally here, and it was with great excitement that fellow Tasmanian Matt Brumby was announced as Co-Captain alongside Queenslander Nicole Bradley.
Matt was born in Devonport, where he currently resides, before joining the Royal Australian Navy in 1994. He was discharged in 2001 after aquiring a complete T6 spinal cord injury during a clearance diver selection course and a subsequent motorcycle accident.

Matt recognises the positive impact team sports has on physical and mental wellbeing, he uses sport as an avenure t o meet new people and travel. Matt will be competing in wheelchair rugby, cycling and athletics at the 2018 Invictus games where he hopes that any win gained by the team will inspire future competitiors, no matter their level of disability to get out there and have a crack.

The ParaQuad Association of Tasmania wishes Matt and other fellow and former Tasmanians- Brigid Baker, Trent Forbes, Emma Kadziolka, Jarrod Kent, Sonya Newman, Steve Sandman and Stewart Sherman, all the best in their events at the 2018 Invictus games.
